Swan Valley Star and Times Game Day Report

The Swan Valley Stampeders hit the road for a two-game mini-series against the Neepawa Titans at the Yellowhead Centre tonight. These next two games will be the final meetings of the regular season between the two teams and we expect to see a battle on the ice.

Swan Valley and Neepawa have combined for 53 goals in six games so far this season with each team winning three games against one another. The Stampeders had their recent four-game win streak snapped by the Titans last Friday night at the Centennial Arena, scoring four goals in 13:11 of the first period against a deflated Swan Valley team. Swan rebounded with a 7-4 win the following night, giving them a three-point separation in the standings over the Titans.

Swan Valley has been a completely different team since returning from the Christmas break and has a record of 5-1-0-1 in their last seven games. The Stampeders have also done a way better job of keeping the puck out of their net during that stretch of games. Swan has only allowed 22 goals against while their offence has come alive and put up 30 of their own.

Expect to see more fireworks tonight at the Madhouse on Mountain as both teams battle it out for a better stance in the West Division playoff race.
