Swan Valley Star and Times Game Day Report

The Swan Valley Stampeders will be looking to do something they haven’t been able to accomplish yet this season, win back-to-back games against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Swan Valley will have a chance to close the gap a little more between these two teams tonight at the Centennial Arena at 7 p.m..

Today’s game was originally scheduled for this afternoon but with the health restriction being pushed back a week, it made things difficult to arrange a student presence, as originally planned. Since that announcement was made, the restrictions have loosened and we are now allowed to host 545 fans instead of the 250 that was imposed on teams over a month ago. Proof of vaccination is still required and masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times in the arena. Children 12 and under are free courtesy of the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre.

The Stampeders are coming off a 4-2 win on home ice against the Wolverines last Saturday night where they were outshot 40-21. Wayway is coming off back-to-back losses after falling to the Steinbach Pistons on home ice Monday evening.

Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff will be dressing the same lineup as Saturday due to the ongoing injury situation with Lare Pahtayken, Nicolas Roussel and Myles Mason. Dylan Black who stood on his head last Saturday is expected to get the start in the net for the Stampeders.
