Swan Valley Star & Times – Weekly Roundup

Stamps in prime spot to turn things around

The Stamps will play a total of two games this week and will have potentially the best opportunity to turn things around this week.

They’ll start the week off against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard tomorrow night in The Pas. To end the week, the Neepawa Titans will come to town on Friday, Dec. 5.

The Blizzard, like the Stampeders, have struggled this season. The defending champions have a minimal number of returning players and are in a full rebuild mode, but it doesn’t change the fact that they still continue to be competitive against some of the top dogs. The Stampeders must take advantage of this prime opportunity to get back into the win column.

Meanwhile, Friday will see the Neepawa Titans come to town for the first time this season. The Stampeders held a 2-0 lead over the Titans in their first meeting of the season, before Neepawa came back to win 3-2 in overtime. This’ll be a West Division match-up for everyone to see, as both teams currently are battling to either solidify or gain points in the playoff race.

At the hands of a seven game losing streak, the Stampeders must do everything in their power to get back into the win column and catch the Wolverines and Titans in the current playoff race.
