Swan Valley Star & Times – Weekly Roundup

Stampeders face Pistons for only game of the week

The Stampeders will welcome the Steinbach Pistons to town for the first time this season on Saturday, Dec. 13 for a 7 pm puck drop.

The Stamps are currently on a nine-game losing streak, falling in the shootout 5-4 this past weekend to the Neepawa Titans. They held a 4-1 lead at one point in the game and, with only three games to go until the Christmas break, need to get back in the win column before heading home.

The Pistons are coming off a loss to the Selkirk Steelers by a 5-3 score, but play the Winnipeg Monarchs and Northern Manitoba Blizzard this week before heading to Swan. The Pistons have played some good hockey in their last few games and will look to add onto it when they come to Swan on Saturday.

Things will need to change for the Stamps soon, as the Trade Deadline approaches on Jan. 10. The trade freeze for the Christmas break is tomorrow.
