Stampeders prep for toughest week of second half
After having a week off for the first time in awhile, the Stampeders will get back to their regular 3 games in a week this week, as they face the Dauphin Kings, Niverville Nighthawks, and Steinbach Pistons.
Swan is coming off a two game weekend which should have seen them acquire four points, but only earning two, as they were defeated by the NorMan Blizzard on Friday afternoon by a 6-3 score. They were able to get a huge two points by defeating the Winnipeg Monarchs 5-2 the next night in Swan.
This week will see the Stampeders start off against the Dauphin Kings, and they’re looking to even the season series in the finale on Wednesday. Dauphin leads the season series 3-2, but the Stamps most recently were the victor, as they shutout their Parkland rivals 4-0 in Dauphin two weeks ago.
To follow, this coming weekend is Parents Weekend for the Stampeders, as players families will make the trek to Swan to watch their sons compete. The Stamps get to kick things off against the #1 Niverville Nighthawks, while hosting Every Child Matters game night. The Stamps will be wearing some very nice and custom designed jersey’s in conjunction with the game sponsor, Wuskwi Siphik First Nation.
To end the week, the Stamps will take on, for the final time, the Steinbach Pistons. A team that they have had very close run in’s with this season.
With the playoff push getting near to an end, the Stamps must get back to work this week against three tough opponents to try and gain some ground on the teams ahead of them.
