Stampeders set for Amara’s Amigos matchup with Blues

The Stampeders will only play one game this weekend, but it happens to be the most special night of the year, as they take on the Winnipeg Blues for the annual Amara’s Amigos game on Nov. 8 at 7 pm.

The of Amara’s Amigos is in recognition of the late Amara Campbell, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma cancer as a young teen, she passed away in 2020. Amara’s Amigos is a way to give awareness to childhood cancer, and it raises funds to go towards cancer research. Both siblings of Amara and Joel Campbell will be honoured on Saturday night, as Joel passed away in 2020.

Both will be remembered in their own way on the ice this Saturday. The Stampeders will be wearing special purple jerseys to remember Amara, while having a blue heart with the initials of Joel and his hockey jersey number 16.

With the Stampeders being down in the West Division, this game is not only important for the season itself, but for the entire community.

Please wear purple and get set for Amara’s Amigos night on Saturday.
