Stampeders look to get back on track against Neepawa and Portage
On the bitter end of a five game losing streak, the Stampeders will look to rebound with two games this week, starting in Neepawa tomorrow night for a 7:30 pm clash with the Titans. Meanwhile, they’ll end the week against the Portage Terriers on Saturday at the Centennial Arena.
The Titans have been a tough team to handle lately, as they currently have a one point lead on Wayway, and a 6 point lead on Swan for third in the West Division. The Titans have been able to hang into every game they’ve played and arguably could have more wins on the board. The Stampeders will have their hands full with Ken Pearson’s group.
The Portage Terriers have really turned things around since getting former goaltender, Mitchell Kathler back from the BCHL and are 8-1 in their last nine games. They only sit two points back of second in the East Division and want to continue their recent play when they come to Swan on Saturday.
Though falling in their last five games, the Stampeders have been in every game. The team has had the lead in the games in 3 of the last 5 games. They’re peaking around the corner, but need to make that turn to getting some wins and fighting their way back into a playoff position.
