Terriers beat Stamps 6-2

The Stampeders were back in action tonight on home ice as the visiting Portage Terriers Made their way to town.

The Stampeders found themselves trailing just 1:13 into the opening frame as James McIsaac beat Brett Evans. The Terriers added to their lead on the power play as Mackenzie Dwyer scored his 9th of the year at 3:10. Stampeders responded at 17:46 when Josh Tripp let a wrist shot go from the middle of the circle that beat Brock Aiken over the blocker. Shots after the 1st period were 15-9 for Swan but trailed Portage 2-1.

The second period was a parade to the penalty box by both clubs. Portage added to their lead on the power play at 2:02 as Ty Enns beat Brett Evans on the rebound. The Terriers went up 4-1 when Jeremy Leipsic scored his 18th of the year. The middle frame ended with the Stampeders trailing 4-1 and the Terriers leading 30-22 in the shot department.

The Terriers James McIsaac added his 19th of the year at 10:18 of the 3rd period. Quintin Sudom grabbed his 6th of the year 16:42. The Terriers added another at 18:07 and cruised to a 6-2 victory over the Stampeders. Final shots on net were 41-35 for Portage. Next action for the Stampeders will be Friday January 19th when the Winnipeg Blues come to town. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
