IG Wealth Management Game Day Report
Swan Valley Stampeders Regular Season Record: 6-7-1-1. PP: 15.1% (9th) PK: 72.6% (13th) Rank: 5th in the MGEU West Division, 9th in MJHL
Head Coach: Barry Wolff
Assistant Coach: Dakota Mason
Assistant Coach: Darren Webster
Tonight’s Matchup: vs Selkirk: The Stampeders had a rough week, going 1-2, only scoring two goals against Portage and Winkler. The Stampeders goaltending has been on point all season, and will need some help from the players in front of them to alleviate the workload they receive every night. The Stampeders have now given up 40 plus shots in their last eight games. Tonight will be a challenge as the Steelers will be looking for their second win of the season, while the Stampeders need a win to keep pace in the newly named MGEU West Division.
Last Game: 3-1 loss to the Winkler Flyers: The Stampeders had a tough time finding any offence last week, and that happens from time-to-time. But this seems to be an on-going issue this season. The shots and the chances were there last Saturday but they couldn’t find the back of the net. Winkler used a goal in the first, a goal early in the third and an empty net marker to defeat the Stampeders.
