Tonight’s Matchup: vs the Nighthawks:The Stampeders will be looking to do something they haven’t been able to do in a very long time, win eight straight games. Tonight will be a big test for the red-hot Stampeders squad as they travel south to face the west division’s second-place Virden Oil Capitals. Strong goaltending and staying out of the penalty box are a must if the Stampeders look to secure first overall in the Standings with just two games left in the MJHL Regular Season. 

 

Last Game: 6-1 win over Niverville: Swan Valley came to play last Saturday, taking down the visiting Niverville Nighthawks, pushing their win streak to seven games. Swan scored three straight in the first period, added a power play marker in the second period and finished the game off with a pair of goals in the third. Loic Mainguy-Crepault was the first star of the game, stopping 36/37 shots he faced.

Last Game: 2-1 win over Wayway: The Oil Capitals ended the Wolverines’ playoff hopes with a 2-1 win on the road Tuesday, Mar. 14. Joey Bielik opened the scoring just past the midway point of the first period and Naton Miller added his fifth of the year in the middle frame, while Eric Reid stopped 34/25 shots he faced in the win. The Oil Capitals will need strong defensive play to help find two points tonight against the Stampeders.
