The Stampeders Fall 6-2 To Wayway Wednesday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders early season scoring troubles continued Wednesday night at the Centennial Arena, dropping a 6-2 decision to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Sean Williams scored at 4:45, collecting his first of the season. Josh Danis tied the game, snapping one through Marek Andres ten minutes later. The Wolverines regained the lead a minute and a half later and never looked back, chasing 20-year-old goaltender Liam Vanderkooi just past the midway point of the second period.

The Wolverines scored three times in 13:18 to take a commanding 5-1 lead into the third period. Luke McCarthy added a power play marker at 1:04 of the third period, beating Elias Giacarri-Dimitriou as he walked in all alone and ripped one home. Owen Warnick scored his first MJHL goal with just 49 seconds to go and the Stampeders fell 6-2 on home ice Wednesday night.
