The Stampeders Fall On The Road Tuesday Night In Dauphin

The Swan Valley Stampeders fell 4-2 Tuesday night to the Dauphin Kings at Credit union Place.

The Dauphin Kings struck quick Tuesday night, scoring 20 seconds into the game on a harmless point shot that Kyle Abrahamson didn’t see. Kyan Grouette added to the Kings lead late in the first, giving Dauphin a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The Stampeders finally found a way to push back against the Kings in the middle frame, sending 17 shots on net. Darius Makse was able to get Swan Valley on the board as well, driving the net, and depositing a loose puck in the crease 2:45 into the middle frame.

The Stampeders continued to push in the third period and were able to tie the game on a beautiful passing play between Darius Makse, Callum Halls and Landen Gulutzan at 14:25 to tie the game 2-2. But, all that hard work was for not as the Stampeders took two penalties, setting up a 5-on-3 for the Kings late in the third. A goal by Ashton Paul on the power play at 18:17 and the Kings added an empty net goal to seal a 4-2 win Tuesday night.
