The Swan Valley Stampeders will see a new opponent for the first time in two weeks tonight in Portage la Prairie. The Stampeders are at Stride Place for their next two games as part of the MJHL Showcase.

The MJHL Player Showcase is held annually to provide additional exposure for all players. For scouts and evaluators, the event provides an efficient method to watch every team and evaluate every player in the MJHL in one convenient location.

The 2021 MJHL Player Showcase will take place at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie from November 22 – 24th and will feature all 12 member teams playing two non-divisional games each based on standings at that time.

1st and 2nd Place Teams in West will play 1st and 2nd Place Teams in the East.

3rd and 4th Place Teams in West will play 3rd and 4th Place Teams in the East.

5th and 6th Place Teams in West will play 5th and 6th Place Teams in the East.

Playing meaningful regular season games aids players in providing a competitive environment enhancing their opportunity to showcase their talents.

For MJHL players, these games are a very important step in attracting the attention of the many colleges, major junior teams, university, professional and National Hockey League scouts attending from across North America. For MJHL and hockey fans, this event is a great way to watch a variety of high-calibre hockey, while enjoying the many comforts and amenities that Stride Place (Portage la Prairie) has to offer.

Swan Valley will face two East Division opponents – the Winkler Flyers (Monday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 pm) and the Selkirk Steelers (Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 pm.).

The Stampers are currently in a five-game losing streak while the Winkler Flyers are 3-2 in their last five games.

Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff have made some tweaks to his lineup ahead of tonight’s contest. Making their return to the lineup are Adam Ward, and Lare Pahtayken. Not Dressed tonight is Collin Jennings, Jayden Mosiondz, Emile Pichette and Dylan Black. Wolff has also called up AP goaltender Zach Meadows who will backup Kobe Grant.

SVS –Carter Cockburn (4G, 12A), Quinn Mulder (5G, 10A), Justin Keck (3G, 1A), and Adam Rajsigl (4G, 11A)

WNK –Justin Svenson (12G, 17A), Jayden McCarthy (12G, 13A), Trent Sambrook (3G, 17A) and Josh Beauchemin (9G, 10A).
