THREE STARS OF THE WEEK

The Swan Valley Stampeders are off to a bumpy start in 2019. Since returning from the Christmas break, the club has gone 3-2. The wins came against the Selkirk Steelers, Virden Oil Capitals, and the Winkler Flyers.

In case you missed it, the Stampeders beat the Oil Capitals in overtime, 4-3 on January 8. On January 11, the team returned home and lost 3-1 to Winkler. One day later, the team rebounded in a big way by thumping Winkler, 6-1.

THREE STARS (Jan 7-14)

3rd Star

Is recently acquired, Tucker Scantlebury. The power forward had himself a great week.

The Foxwarren, MB product scored once and added two assists in three games.

Since joining the Stampeders, Scantlebury has scored twice while adding two assists in five games.

Josh Tripp has been on fire this season and he continued to dominate the MJHL last week.

The Swan River, MB native scored once and added three assists.

Tripp’s 28 goals and 36 assists this season is good for first place in the league.

Bradly Goethals is coming off back to back Player of the Month awards and he led the way with four points in three games.

From Ile-des-Chenes, MB, Goethals had three goals and one assist which helped the team win twice in three games.
