Zhong Commits to Royal Military College

The Swan Valley Stampeders are proud to announce that Jun Yi Zhong has committed to play with the Royal Military College Paladins in Kingston, ON for the upcoming season.

The 6`2” 187 lbs defenceman from Surrey, B.C. was acquired November 12, 2018 from the Red Lake Miners of the SIJHL by former Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. 

 Zhong`s junior career started in 2015 with the Lanlgey Knights of the PIJHL and would make stops in Fort Francis (SIJHL), Ridge Meadows Flames (PIJHL), Waywayseecappo Wolverines (MJHL), Timmins Rock (SIJHL), Red Lake Miners (SIJHL), and the Swan Valley Stampeders (MJHL).

 The 20-year-old would dress in 32 games during his time with the Stampeders, scoring twice and adding six assists. 

 “I couldn’t be more excited about joining RMC,” said Zhong. “I wanted to continue with my families tradition of joining the military and couldn’t be more happier to start the next chapter in my life.”

The Swan Valley Stampeders continue to provide a great platform that allows the players to stay focused and committed to their long term goals of making it to the next level.
