MEDIA RELEASE
December 6, 2019

With regret, the Board of Directors of the Swan Valley Stampeders would like to announce the resignation of Head Coach and General Manager, Geoff Grimwood, effective immediately.

Grimwood had this to say:

“I would like to thank the Swan Valley Stampeders Board, fans, sponsors and in particular the players for the opportunity to coach here. I genuinely enjoyed my time in Swan Valley and wish the team every success in the future.  At this time I am choosing to step away from coaching and take some time away from the game.”

The Board would like to thank Geoff for all his hard work and the important role he has played in guiding the team to their current 17-10-2 record.  The Board wishes Geoffwell in his future endeavours.  Director of Player Personnel, Darren Webster has been appointed interim Head Coach for this weekend’s games and will be assisted by Associate Coach, Suneil Karod.

At this time the Board of Directors would also like to announce that Barry Wolff will be returning to the team as Head Coach and General Manager for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.  The Stampeders welcome back Wolff, who guided the team to their most successful season in franchise history in 2018-2019.  Barry will be in Swan River on Monday December 9 to begin his duties.
