Athletic Therapist Kate Wiens Steps Down

The Swan Valley Stampeders Junior A Hockey Club is sad to announce that Athletic Therapist Kate Wiens will not return to the club for the 2023-24 season.

Kate came to the club in 2018 after graduating from the University of Manitoba and helping the Eastman Selects AAA hockey organization.

Kate has been recognized on numerous occasions not only by the Manitoba Junior Hockey League but also by Hockey Canada. She recently participated in the World Junior A Hockey Challenge – assisting Team Canada West.

“We would like to thank Kate for the countless hours and devotion she put into our hockey club,” said Stampeders Board President Cramer Coulthart. “Kate has been a pleasure to have around the organization and she’s certainly helped bring it to the next level. We would like to wish Kate all the best in her next venture. We know she will do well because she’s a great therapist and great person!”

“Kate’s professionalism and expertise was second to none,” added Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “We will miss her and wish her all the best in the future. Thank you, Dr. Kate!”
