Cody Barnes Commits to Williston State College

The Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that 20-year-old Forward Cody Barnes has committed to play for the Williston State Tetons.

Williston State College is located in Williston, ND, USA and play in the ACHA Division II in the NJCAA.

Barnes, a native of Kelowna, B.C., played two seasons for the Stampeders, collecting 23 goals, 15 assists and 27 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games.

“I am really excited to be going to Williston State College and continue playing hockey and to further my education,” said Barnes. “I would like to thank 100 Mile House Wranglers, the Swan Valley Stampeders organization, Barry Wolff, and the coaching staff. I would also like to thank my teammates through my hockey career and my family and friends.”

“We are very excited to have Cody join our program for the upcoming season,” said Williston Coach Donovan Gault. “He is going to be fun to watch this year, he’s a highly skilled player and we are expecting big things from him this season. Not only does he bring some scoring prowess that we have lacked in prior years, but at 6’5’ he also brings some size up front which should help him become a break out star in the ACHA D2 this season.”

“We are very happy for Cody and so proud of him,” said Stampeder Head Coach/General Manager Barry Wolff. “Williston State is a great school and this is a great opportunity for Cody to further his education and hockey career. The Tentons and Williston State just got a whole lot better.”

The entire Stampeder organization would like to congratulate Cody on his recent commitment to play for the Williston State Tetons.
