Josh Maucieri Commits to the University of St. Thomas

The Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that Josh Maucieri has committed to play for the University of St. Thomas for the upcoming season.

Maucieri`s junior career started with the Breezy Point North Stars of the NA3HL. After two and a half seasons in the NA3HL, he would join the Swan Valley Stampeders  in the 2018/19 season.

The 6`1” 180 lbs forward from Crosby, MN, USA dressed in 132 games for the Stampeders, scoring 32 goals, adding 71 assists for 103 points over two seasons in the Valley.

“I am honored to join the St. Thomas Tommies, they have a fantastic hockey program,” said Josh Maucieri. “I am excited to join such a top notch college. I would like to thank the Stampeder organization, the coach’s, my teammates, my family, my billet families, and everyone who has supported me throughout my hockey career. To the Town of Swan River and to the fans, thank you, the support they show every game is truly amazing. The Stampeders are a first class organization from top to bottom. I am extremely proud to have been a part of the Stampeders for the last two seasons. Thank you to all the lifelong friends I have made, it was an amazing experience and thank you for all the great memories.”

The Swan Valley Stampeders continue to provide an amazing platform that allows the players to stay focused, and committed to their long term goals of making it to the next level.

 “We are really excited that Josh chose St. Thomas,” said Tommies Assistant Coach Nick Bydal. “He is a 200 foot player that we will be able to use anywhere in our lineup. He competes in the defensive zone and is great down low in the O-zone, he will take the puck to the paint any chance he gets. We look for him to be an impact player right away and contribute on special teams. On top of all that he’s a great kid and is a great addition to the St Thomas family.”

The University of St. Thomas is located in St. Paul, MN, USA and is a NCAA Div lll school that competes in the MIAC Conference.

“We are very happy for Josh, and this is well deserved,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “The Tommie’s hockey team, and St. Thomas School just got a whole lot better.”
