Paull Funeral Home & Crematorium Three Stars of the Week (Feb. 11 – Feb. 18)

Every Monday we will be awarding three players who had a big week and giving them stars. We will be doing this week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be recognized and presented an award during our final home game of the season.

The Swan Valley Stampeders went 0-2 last week, giving up 10 goals against while only scoring three of their own. Swan Valley now sits with a record of 10-38-2 and are currently riding a nine-game losing streak.

A tough year is nearing completion as the Stampeders only have eight games left in their 25th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

This week, the Stampeders will travel to Dauphin Tuesday, Feb. 20 to face the Kings in a rematch and will close out the week with a game in Neepawa Saturday, Feb. 24. Both games get underway at 7:30pm and can be viewed on FloHockey.

Three star point system is as follows:

1st Star = 3 points

2nd Star = 2 points

3rd Star = 1 point

THREE STARS (Feb. 11 – Feb. 18)

3rd Star

Ethan Lintner finds his way onto the three-star selections this week after the 20-year-old collected one goal in two games. What Linter lacks in size, he makes up for it in heart and determination as he continues to bring his game every night for the Stampeders.

2nd Star

Matthew Munro jumps into the second star selection this week after he turned up the heat this weekend in a pair of losses on home ice. The 19-year-old showed some grit and collected a power play goal against the Kings Saturday night.

1st Star

Riley Fequet has taken the top spot away from Darius Makse, who held it for two straight weeks. The 18-year-old Beaumont, AB product collected a goal Friday night against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and has been getting better with every game he plays. Fequet leads all rookies on the Stampeders with 13 points (8G, 5A).
