Paull Funeral Home & Crematorium Three Stars of the Week (Nov. 26 – Dec. 3)

Every Monday we will be awarding three players who had a big week and giving them stars. We will be doing this week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be recognized and presented an award during our final home game of the season.

The Stampeders played two games last weekend after an eight-day break in the schedule. Swan Valley split the weekend games against the Neepawa Titans and the Selkirk Steelers.

Swan had the legs Friday night at the Centennial Arena and looked like a completely different team in a 6-2 win over the Titans. Saturday, well that was a different team altogether, losing 6-1 to the Selkirk Steelers.

The season has been up, it has been down and the emotional rollercoaster continues as the Stampeders are set for another busy week ahead.

Swan Valley will host the Blizzard Tuesday Dec. 5 (Swan Valley Credit Union) at 7pm before they head out on the road for three games this weekend.

Hockey is for Everyone | The hockey for everyone game night jersey auction closed at 9 pm. We will announce the successful bid winners later today. Thank you to everyone who placed a bid.

Three star point system is as follows:

1st Star = 3 points

2nd Star = 2 points

3rd Star = 1 point

THREE STARS (Nov. 26 – Dec. 3)

3rd Star

Aidan Taylor returned to the Stampeder lienup in a big way Friday night, scoring two goals and helping his team snap their recent losing streak. Taylor scored his frist MJHL goal 3:52 into the game and added a second 1:39 into the third, helping his team secure their first win in nearly a month.

2nd Stars

Jakob Jones remains as the second star of the week after another solid two game performance from the 20-year-old. Jones collected two goals and two assists in two games played this weekend.  Jones sits third in team scoring with 19 points (10G, 9A).

1st Star

Oh Captain, My Captain. Ashton Fishley takes over the number one spot this week after a solid outing from the 20-year-old defenceman. The Stampeders needed some offence and the Balcarres, SK product helped deliver. He collected four assists, three of those coming on the power play, over two games this past weekend. Fishley sits fourth in team scoring with 17 points (5G, 12A).
