Stampeders End Preseason With A Win On Home Ice

The Swan Valley Stampeders collected their first win of the preseason, on home ice Friday night. The Stamps took down the OCN Blizzard by a final score of 4-1 at the Swan River Centennial Arena.

Mikael Foucher stopped 30 of 31 shots directed on goal, while newcomers Jayce Nikbakht and Haydn Delorme scored a goal and added an assist in the victory in their final, and only preseason home game.

The Stampeders jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the opening frame as Quin Mulder and Jackson Betcher scored goals 37 seconds apart. OCN would respond with 12 seconds left in the first period as Trenton Morriseau tapped home his first of the preseason.

The Stampeders would score a goal in each of the next two periods, Nikbakht (16:57 of the second period) and Delorme (3:34 of the third period) and go on to win the contest.

Final shots on goal were 40-31 in favor of Swan Valley.

The Stamps’ wrap up their MJHL preseason with a record of 1-2.
