Stampeders Fall 6-5 In Overtime Saturday Night To The Portage Terriers

The Stampeders grabbed a point but couldn’t snap their losing streak, falling 6-5 to the Portage Terriers in overtime Saturday night.

The Stampeders offence was led by Will Brown (2G, 3A), Landen Gulutzan (2G, 1A), and Dobie Unrau (1G, 1A).

The Swan Valley Stampeders used their first shot on goal to open the scoring as Dobie Unrau let a wrister go 42 seconds into the game collecting his sixth of the year.  The Portage Terriers added three goals before the first period ended taking a 3-1 lead into the dressing room.

Landen Gulutzan scored his 10th of the season 5:55 into the second period pulling the stampeders to within one.

Ashton Fishley added his second of the game at 5:05 giving the Terriers a 4-2 lead. Will Brown scored back-to-back goals, tying the game 4-4. Landen Gulutzan Added his second of the game at 17:11 giving the Stampeders a 5-4 lead. Mathew Biros tied the game at 18:43 sending this game to overtime.

Parker Korman scored a power play goal 2:07 into the extra frame and the Terriers beat the Stampeders 6-5.
