Stampeders Lose 7-1 Friday Night in Their Season Opener Against Dauphin

Dauphin, MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders fell flat on their rear ends Friday night, losing 7-1 to the Dauphin Kings in their season opener.

Truman Boettiger was the only Stampeder to score Friday night, collecting his first MJHL goal at the 15:51 mark of the second period.

Tonight’s story was all about Dauphin and their transition game, capitalizing on many odd man rushes.

The Kings scored four straight goals in the first period, added two more in the second and added a kicker in the third period to easily tame the Stampede Friday night at Credit Union Place.

The Stampeders will return home and get ready for the Blizzard Saturday night at the Centennial Arena.

Saturday night’s MNP Home Opener festivities will get underway at 6 p.m. with a sharp shooter challenge in the parking lot, Stampeder gear being sold in the lobby, many giveaways throughout the game and the opening ceremonies will start at 6:55p.m. sharp, so please be in your seats early.

It’s our 25th Season Home Opener and it’s sure to have a few surprises.

Individual game day tickets are available at Home Hardware, Riddell’s Plumbing & Heating (cash only), or at the door.

See you all tomorrow night to help us celebrate 25 seasons.
