Stampeders Organization saddened by the sudden passing of former player Brent Wilson

The Swan Valley Stampeders organization is saddened to hear of the sudden passing of former player Brent Wilson.

Brent played with the team in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011, accumulating 73 points in 95 games. He was named Top Defensemen and Playoff MVP in his short time in the Swan River Valley.

“I had the opportunity to play with Willy for two years after we acquired him in 2009.” said President Cramer Coulthart. “He was an impact player and his presence was felt immediately on and off of the ice. Willy was a gamer, you never had to worry about him showing up to play. High end talent, intense and a great team mate.

“Condolences to the Wilson family and his many friends near and far.”

Brent was 30 years old.
