Stampeders Return to Home Ice Friday October 2

The Swan Valley Stampeders return to home ice for the first time since the COVID pandemic cancelled the 2020 playoff season. Tomorrow night (October 2) the Stamps play their final preseason game when they host the OCN Blizzard. This will be the clubs first time playing in front of their home crowd since their Game three, 10-1 thrashing of the Wayway Wolverines in their best-of-seven series back in March. Before game four could be played, the season was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Stampeders are coming off back-to-back losses on the road in a very short, spaced out preseason. The club fell to the Dauphin Kings 6-1 and the OCN Blizzard 6-3 over the course of a week.

Friday’s game will have a different feel to it as the organization moves through a new normal. The team and town officials have put in place safety measures that must be followed. Family members are asked to enter, sit and leave together, make sure you’re social distancing at all times whenever possible, do not enter the building if you have any COVID-like symptoms, wash your hands frequently, and you must wear a mask at all times while inside the arena. We ask that you follow the rules that have been implemented so we can all enjoy the game we love.

Season tickets and flex packs will be available for pickup while you enter the building Friday evening. Stamps director of marketing, Cody Manchester, will be set up near The Stall and we ask that you social distance while in line. Anyone not planning on attending the game Friday night, a plan is currently being planned for pickup and or delivery early next week. Any questions or concerns please contact Cody at 1-204-281-2765.

The entire Stampeder Organization has done a tremendous job preparing the arena, putting in proper safety measures and proper protocols to allow fans to enjoy MJHL Hockey once again. Once again we ask you to follow all rules put in place while at the Centennial Arena. We are all in this together. Let’s work together and be COVID Safe.
