Stamps Lose To Neepawa Friday Night

The Neepawa Natives defeated the Swan Valley Stampeders 2-1 Friday night.

The Neepawa Natives used a pair of power play goals Friday night to defeat the Stampeders.

The Natives and the Stampeders did battle for the second time in just three nights, Friday November 29 at the Yellowhead Centre in Neepawa.

A very entertaining, back-and-forth 1st period ended in a scoreless draw. Swan Valley would gain two power plays in the opening frame, but couldn’t solve Dawson Green.

Neepawa would capitalize on a pair of power plays in the second period. Bradley Marshall would open the scoring, deflecting in a point shot on the power play 2:06 into the middle frame. Ethan Smith would pick up his 3rd of the year just over 10 minutes later and Neepawa lead 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.

Parker Johnson would collect his 4th of the year at 12:28 of the 3rd period, but it wasn’t enough as the Natives skated to 2-1 win on home ice.

Next action for the team will be tomorrow (Saturday November 30) against the Portage Terriers. The game is a proud presentation of CMHA Swan Valley Branch and #TalkToday.

*Note* we ask that you wear a jersey and you will be entered into win a Stampeder Jersey of your own. We will also be playing 80’s music all night.

Puck drop is a 7:30pm.
