Swan Valley Drops Third Straight Game, Fall 5-3 Saturday Night In The Pas

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their third straight game, losing 5-3 to the Blizzard Saturday night in The Pas.

The Stampeders jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Ethan Lintner and Amar Powar seven minutes apart. Linter collected his first MJHL goal, cleaning up a rebound at 2:48 and Amar Powar scored an absolute beauty just past the 11-minute mark, scoring his fifth of the season to give the road team a 2-0 lead heading to the dressing room.

The Blizzard took over in the second period, scoring three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead. Goals by Kieran Cooke (1:32, PP), Marlen Edwards (6:51, PP) and Reeve Sukut (9:09).

Landen Gulutzan tied the game 3-3, snapping home his ninth of the season, 4:33 into the third period. Quincy Supprien responded for the home team, smacking one home for his 10th of the year at 6:27 and Sabastian Hamming added an empty net goal at 19:41 to secure a 5-3 Blizzard win Saturday night.

The MJHL will now take a break as the MJHL/SJHL showcase will take place January 30 – 31 at Seven Oaks Sportsplex in Winnipeg. Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff will be the only active Stampeder member attending.
