Swan Valley Stampeders Announce Auto-Protected Players Ahead of This Years MJHL Draft

The Swan Valley Stampeders are excited to announce their two auto-protected players ahead of this year’s Manitoba Junior Hockey League Draft.

The Stamps’ have selected Forward Tavyn Boychuk (07) and Forward Tyrell Leaske (07). Both hail from Swan River, MB, and played for the U18AAA Parkland Rangers during the 2022/2023 season.

Each year, all 13 MJHL teams have the ability to auto-protect two draft eligible players from their respective regions before the Annual MJHL Draft. This year’s draft will take place Sunday, June 4, at 9:00a.m..

Tavyn Boychuk, a 5’10”, 165lbs left shot forward, collected 29 points (16 Goals – 13 Assists) and 18 penalty minutes in 44 games with the Parkland Rangers this past season.

Tyrell Leaske, a 6’1”, 161lbs left shot forward, collected 14 points (7 Goals – 7 Assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Parkland Rangers this past season.

“We are very excited to add these two players to our protected list,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “We have had great success with local Swan Valley area players and we hope these two will add to that list. Both young men have participated in the Stampeder camps in the past and this is an exciting day for Stampeder Hockey.”

The Swan Valley Stampeders are thrilled to select both Tavyn Boychuk and Tyrell Leaske.
