Swan Valley Star and Times Game Day Report

The Swan Valley Stampeders are coming off one of the biggest come-backs in team history, after defeating the Steinbach Pistons 5-4 in a shootout last night at T.G. Smith Centre.

Swan Valley looked solid and pushed the play for the opening seven minutes, only allowing a couple of shots against during that time. Steinbach gained a power play and that shifted the momentum in the Pistons favor. They went on to score four straight goals. It was a power play in the second period that finally got things rolling for the Stamps’ and they found a way back into the game, scoring four straight goals of their own to force overtime and then a shootout.

Kobe Grant had a tough start to last night’s game but rebounded in the second, and third periods, putting on another clinic and giving his team a chance to win on the road. Grant’s exceptional performance gained him first star of the game and the win in net.

A couple of firsts happened last night during the Stampeders character win. Deepkaran Hans and Nic Roussel made their debuts and it was a massive one on their behalf. Hans picked up a goal and an assist while  Nic Roussel collected his first assist for his new team.

Swan Valley will need a full 60 minute effort from their guys in order to pull out another win against the top team in the East Division.

Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff has made a two changes to tonight’s lineup. Not dressed tonight are Jayden Mosiondz, Darius Makse and Adam Ward. Justin Keck returns to the lineup while Dylan Black gets the start in goal.
