Swan Valley Star and Times Game Day Report

Home sweet home, that’s been a place the Swan Valley Stampeders have played some of their best hockey and are looking to continue that trend tonight at the Centennial Arena when they host the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The first game between these two teams didn’t go the way of the Stampeders, falling 4-3 in regulation and keeping Wayway’s unbeaten streak at home intact, for now.

A quick recap of Thursday night’s game – it was all Wayway in the first 15 minutes of the opening frame and they completely dominated the second period. But from there on out it was all Swan Valley – scoring two goals and outshooting their opponents in the third period 18-4. That entire final frame was what Stampeder fans have been waiting for all season. The passing plays, the speed, the physicality – It was all there. They just needed another goal or two, but that will come to young group of players.

Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff will be changing his lineup a bit for tonight’s game. In are newly acquired defenceman Lare Pahtayken and Goaltender Kobe Grant will dress as a backup – Out Jayden Mosiondz and Scott Thompson.

These two teams are once again expected to bring their A games tonight and it is sure to be another fantastic Junior A hockey game. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m..
