Tonight’s Matchup: vs the Titans: The Stampeders have been playing some amazing hockey as of late, proving that once again after a come-from-behind win last night in Neepawa. The Stampeders had some penalty trouble in the first period but found their game halfway through the second and finished with a strong third period. The Stampeders will need a full 60 minute effort, and fewer trips to the penalty box, if they look to claim a fifth straight win and separate themselves from the OCN Blizzard atop the MGEU West Division.
Last Game: 5-4 win over Neepawa: The Stampeders’ defensive game struggled for the half the game last night in Neepawa, that, and giving the Titans seven power plays to work with in the first period didn’t help. Jakob Jones opened the scoring with his team leading 14th goal 5:20 into the game on the power play. Neepawa responded with a pair of power play goals of their own to finish off the first period. The Titans added one in the second period, taking a 3-1 lead into the third. (Cue the come-back song here). Swan scored four straight goals in the third period to take down a team that has been playing some of their best hockey as of late. Expect fireworks again tonight at the Yellowhead Centre.

Tonight’s Matchup: vs Swan: Neepawa had a strong 30 minute effort last night against the Stampeders but set the cruise control on a bit too early. In doing so, that allowed the Stampeders life and cost them the game. Neepawa’s power play is a very strong weapon for them, and if given that many opportunities tonight, you can bet they will use it to their advantage. Neepawa will not be fazed by the loss and will be looking to snap the Stampeders win streak tonight as they two teams are set to face one another at the Yellowhead Centre.
Last Game: 5-4 loss to the Stampeders: The Titans fell on home ice after giving up four straight goals in the third period. The Titans used four power plays to score all their goals Friday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Stampeders found a way to win. Mason Lobreau, who was just recently named the Original 16 MJHL Goalie of the Month for November, took the loss in net, stopping 26 of 31 shots he faced.
