The Swan Valley Stampeders, along with the Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation, will be holding our annual Hockey is for Everyone game night on Friday, March 14 at the Centennial Arena.
The Stampeders will be playing the renamed Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m..
The night will feature an opening ceremony, an honorary drum song, peace offerings, the presentation of jerseys, a ceremonial puck drop and the national anthem sung in Cree.
Hockey is for Everyone is a night to provide awareness and a positive environment for players, families and fans of every race, religion, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, or ability.
It is crucial that we support everyone who wants to play or is already playing the sport they love, no matter their background.
The Stampeders will be wearing a brand-new special game night jersey that was designed by Danielle Gordon-Broome and Cody Manchester, along with members of the Wuski Sipihk First Nation. The colours and design represent WSFN and inclusion for all. These jerseys will go up for auction starting Tuesday, March 11 and ending on Saturday, March 15 at noon.
Please plan to attend the evening and help us celebrate everyone who loves the game of hockey, together as one.
