Hard Drive Hockey Partnership
The Swan Valley Stampeders began a skills development partnership with Hard Drive Hockey Development (HDHD) in the 2025–26 season. This collaboration marked an exciting step forward in player development as the Stampeders continued to invest in the growth and success of their athletes both on and off the ice.
Locally based and deeply rooted in the Parkland region, HDHD is led by Dallas Anderson, a name well known in the Manitoba hockey community. Originally from Bowsman, Anderson was the first player ever drafted by the Swan Valley Stampeders during their inaugural season. He went on to play four years in the MJHL, capping his junior career with his hometown team before moving on to a successful professional career that included stints in the ECHL, CHL, UHL, and WPHL. He also participated in two NHL training camps with the Edmonton Oilers and was under contract with the AHL’s Houston Aeros during the 2004–05 season.
A third-generation coach and certified Development 1 Level Coach, Anderson brings a unique and comprehensive approach to player development. He is currently working toward becoming a Hockey Canada Certified Skills Coach. His commitment to continuous learning and his passion for mentoring young athletes make him an invaluable asset to the Stampeders program.
What the Partnership Entails
As part of the partnership, Anderson works closely with Stampeder players multiple times each week in structured skills development sessions. These sessions are designed to refine technical abilities and elevate performance across all aspects of the game.
Key focus areas include:
- On-Ice Skill Development: Targeted training in skating, puck handling, shooting, passing, and in-game strategy.
- Player Evaluation: Individual performance assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Customized Instruction: Progressive teaching methods to maximize player development.
- Performance Feedback: Clear and actionable guidance to help players apply skills in real-game scenarios.
- Communication & Motivation: Fostering a positive, encouraging environment to keep athletes focused, inspired, and on track.
This partnership not only enhances the day-to-day training environment for Stampeder athletes but also reinforces the organization’s commitment to developing well-rounded, high-performance hockey players who are ready to compete at the next level.
