LANE KIRK COMMITS TO The University of Alberta-Augustana

The Swan Valley Stampeders are proud to announce that 2020-21 Team Captain Lane Kirk has committed to play for the University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings this fall.

The University of Alberta-Augustana is located in Camrose, Alta. and is listed as one of the top five academic universities in Canada. Kirk will be joining a familiar face on the blue-line for the upcoming season, reuniting with former Stampeder defenceman Quintin Sudom.

“I am pleased to join the U of A Vikings,” said Kirk. “They are a great
school and have a fantastic program. It is exciting to be put into a veteran lineup and have a chance to make an impact and win a Championship right away.

“I would like to thank the Stampeder organization and everyone who has helped me further my career.”

A native of Swan River, Kirk played parts of five seasons for his hometown team collecting five goals and adding 58 assists in 180 regular season games for the Stampeders and six assists in 24 playoff games.

“Serving as team captain in his final season of Junior proves that he is a leader and a player that will be valued and respected by his teammates,” said University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings Head Coach Tim Green. “Look for Lane to play important minutes and have the whatever it takes mentality to make sure our team has success.”

“We are very happy for Lane, and this opportunity is well deserved,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “The Vikings Hockey team and U of A-Augustana School just got a whole lot better.”
