Myles Mason Commits to Nichols College

The Swan Valley Stampeders are pleased to announce that forward Myles Mason has committed to play with Nichols College Bisons in Dudley, MA, USA for the upcoming season.

“I am really excited to attend a great school like Nichols College, said Mason. “Playing college hockey has always been a dream of mine, and for it to come true is something I am very thankful for. I would like to thank my family, my teammates, Kate Wiens, Assistant Coach Dakota Mason, Associate Coach Darren Webster and Barry Wolff for getting me to this point. Thank you to the Swan Valley Stampeder’s organization, the greatest fans in the league and especially Ken and Janey Kirkpatrick for opening their doors to me and making me feel part of the community. The last three years in Swan Valley has been amazing and has prepared me for my next step in academic and hockey career. I’ve always been taught to leave things better then I found them and the future looks bright for the Swan Valley Stampeders! Go Stamps!!.” 

The 20-year-old played his entire junior hockey career with the Swan Valley Stampeders, dressing in 110 regular season games and 18 playoff games from 2020-2023. Mason will be joining former Stampeder forward Nathan Carl who is entering his second year at Nichols College.

“Our Hockey program got better by adding another Swan Valley Stampeder in Myles Mason,” said Nichols Coach Alex Gacek. “He is well liked by his coach’s, teammates, and everyone he has been in contact with. Myles has those leadership qualities that will fit perfectly at Nichols College. Hearing Myles passion, commitment to hockey and education, I know he will excel at Nichols.”

The 5”11”, 170-pound shifty forward from Vancouver, BC, collected 15 goals, adding 22 assists during his time with the Stampeders.

His two-way style of hockey was a big part of the Stamps’ recent playoff run, picking up a goal and an assist in 12 post-season games.

“We are very happy for Myles, and so proud of him,” said Stampeder Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “From day one Myles became a very important piece in our locker room. Nichols is a great school and this is a great opportunity for Myles to further his education and hockey career.”

Nichols College Bisons are an NCAA Division III school that plays out of Dudley, MA, USA.
