The Swan Valley Stampeders are excited to announce that Forward Shane Roulette has committed to play NCAA Division 3 hockey with the Northland College Lumberjacks.

The 20 year old from Winnipeg, Manitoba has played in 75 games with the Swan Valley Stampeders over the past season and a half scoring 19 goals and adding 21 assists. Before Shane came to Swan Valley he was a part of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and the OCN Blizzard organizations playing in 123 games scoring 19 goals and adding 32 assists.

“I chose Northland College because it’s not that far from home,” said Shane Roulette. “They have a great campus and the team is in a strong division”.

“When we started the process with Coach White and Stampeders organization in the recruitment of Shane, we knew from the start it was a player we needed in our locker room,” said Seamus Gregory Head Men’s Hockey Coach/Associate Athletic Director at Northland College. “He plays an honest game and will be a natural fit in our lineup. He simply wins puck battles and can produce. Any time you can add a player with 200+ games of junior experience, you will.  Another aspect and big part of this is the academic and family side. In working with his family and through our rigorous admissions piece, they were first class – we are excited he will be a LumberJack.”

“Shane had a terrific season with the Stampeders. He is a tremendous leader both on and off the ice and conducts himself in a very respective manner,” said Head Coach and GM Taurean White. “We as an organization are extremely proud of Shane for his commitment to continue his hockey career at Northland College. He is truly deserving of this opportunity.”

White has created at very positive atmosphere in Swan River; one that allows the players to stay focused and committed to doing what it takes to make it to the next level.

The entire Swan Valley Stampeder organization would like to congratulate Shane Roulette on his recent commitment to play Division 3 hockey with the Northland College Lumberjacks.
