As many of you may know, The Swan Valley Stampeders organization tragically lost a member of our Alumni, Brent Wilson, earlier this year.
Brent played for the Stampeders for two seasons in 2009-10 and 2010-11. In his short time here, his impact was profound. Brent was the 2009-10 Top Defenseman and 2010-11 Playoff MVP.
To commemorate Brent’s legacy, the Stampeder organization will be renaming the Top Defenseman Award to the Brent Wilson Memorial Trophy. This trophy will be awarded annually to the best defenseman on the hockey team. Other commemorative events are also in the works.
