Stampeders Acquire 01’ Defenceman Colton Sun From Selkirk

The Swan Valley Stampeders have acquired 2001 blue-liner Colton Sun from the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for futures.

The 6’1” 170 lbs left shot defenceman from West Vancouver, BC, split this season between the Merritt Centennials (BCHL) and the Selkirk Steelers (MJHL).

The 18-year-old has dressed in 24 games between the two clubs, scoring 1 goal and adding 3 assists.

“We are excited to add Colton Sun to our line up,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “He has above average hockey IQ, and his vision will help our power play right off the hop. He is still learning the junior game, but is a welcome addition to our roster.”

Wolff went on to say that he has known the Sun family for a long time, and that he is a first class kid – and a great teammate.

We want to welcome Colton Sun to the Stampeder Organization.
