Stampeders Acquire 99 F Tommy Cardinal

The Swan Valley Stampeders have traded the CJHL Playing rights of 1999 Goaltender Vincent Duplessis to the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL for 1999 born F Tommy Cardinal.

Cardinal, who hails from St-Etienne-de-Lauzon, QC, dressed in 53 games for the Wolverines last season scoring seven goals, while adding nine assists.

Prior to last season, the 20-year-old suited up in 111 games for the Shawinigan Cataractes and the Val-d`Or Foreurs of the QMJHL.

“We are excited to be adding Tommy to our roster,” said Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood. “He will bring tremendous leadership, toughness, and skill to our lineup. We expect him to be a part of our leadership group and to play a significant role for us.”

We want to welcome Tommy Cardinal, and his family to the Stampeder Organization.
