The Swan Valley Stampeders closed out their pre-season games with a 3-0 win on home ice Friday night against the Blizzard.
Tonight’s story was all about 18-year-old goaltender Elias Giaccari-Dimitriou. The Montreal, QC product stopped all 26 saves directed his way, helping his team end the pre-season on a winning note. The calm, cool, collected goaltender has not allowed a goal against during his time in net this pre-season.
Swan Valley used a power play in the first period to open the scoring as Trey Sauder cleaned up a rebound at 12:56.
Ashton Fishley added a second power play marker for the Stampeders just 30 seconds into the second period while Amar Powar deflected one past Tomas Anderson to give the Stampeders a 3-0 lead 12 minutes later.
The third period saw the Blizzard come alive but couldn’t solve Giaccari-Dimitriou.
