Stampeders Don’t Make A Move Before The Jan. 10 Trade Deadline

The Swan Valley Stampeders didn’t make any moves ahead of the Jan. 10 trade deadline, electing to go forward with their current roster.

Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff elected not to make any moves Tuesday, Jan. 10, keeping his current group intact. Wolff, who chose to hold onto an empty card ahead of the deadline, made his moves early on in the season, acquiring:

  • Ashton Fishley D (2003) to the Swan Valley Stampeders in exchange for Future Considerations. Sept. 22, 2022.
  • Josh Danis F (2003) from the Kindersley Klippers in exchange for Future Considerations Sept. 22, 2022.
  • Warren Marcotte D (2003) from the Calgary Canucks in exchange for Future Considerations Sept. 26, 2022.
  • Alex Walicki F (2003) from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in exchange for Future Considerations Oct. 10, 2022.

Wolff, and the Swan Valley Stampeders, are now set to move forward through the remainder of the MJHL regular season.

Prior to the deadline, the Stampeders had two big-name players return to the Valley, that being 18-year-old forward Steven Arp and 18-year-old defenceman Owen Harris.

Harris was returned to the Stampeders on Dec. 7, from the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, bringing with him a full year of experience to the Stampeders’ back end.

Arp was returned to the Stampeders on Oct. 4, from the Winnipeg Ice, also bringing a full year of WHL experience.

Swan Valley will be in action Wednesday, Jan. 11 against the Dauphin Kings. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Centennial Arena.
