Stamps Drop Preseason Opener To The Kings

The Swan Valley Stampeders kicked off their 20th Anniversary Preseason schedule tonight against the Dauphin Kings in an all rookie game. 

The Stampeders found themselves trailing at the 9:33 mark of the first as Owen Wareham beat Dawson Green upstairs. The first period came to a close with Dauphin leading 1-0. 

The Kings jumped on a turnover at 3:16 and Ben Kelley scored short handed to take a 2-0 lead. Sloan Stanick picked up his 1st of the preseason at 17:44 and the Dauphin Kings held a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. 

The Stampeders hard work finally paid off as Josh Beauchemin found the back of the net at 17:05 with assists going to Gregori Paseschnikoff and Achille Casali. The Stamps youngsters added another as Cole Chicoine fed Josh Delorme who beat Keaton Ziprick at 18:11. Dauphin’s Leeam Tivers added an empty net with 49 seconds left to play and the Kings went on to beat the Stampeders 4-2.  

Next action for the Stamps will be Tuesday September 4th in Swan River against the Dauphin Kings. Puck drop is at 6pm.
