Stamps Drop Second Straight Game

After winning 10 straight, the Swan Valley Stampeders have now lost two in a row.

They lost to Winnipeg tonight, 5-3 as the Blues’ won their eighth straight game.

Tucker Scantlebury, Campbell Balk, and Josh Tripp scored the Stamps’ goals in the game.

It was the Stamps’ who opened the scoring as Tucker Scantlebury scored his fourth of the year on the power play at the 14:22 mark of the first.

Sullivan Shortreed responded for Winnipeg as he tied up the contest late in the second.

The flood gates opened in the third and that benefited Winnipeg. Before Winnipeg did any damage, Balk put the Stamps’ up 2-1 with just under nine minutes left. On came the Blues’ as Tony Apetagon and Ty Naakens scored that saw Winnipeg take a 3-2 lead. Sullivan Shortreed than scored his second of the game to give Winnipeg some breathing room for the first time. League MVP, Josh Tripp brought the Stamps’ within one with just under two minutes left. Ty Naaykens scored his second of the game to seal it late for the Blues’

The Stampeders are now 39-12-3-2 with four games left.
