Swan Valley Runs Out of Steam, Falls 6-2 Sunday Afternoon to Winkler

The Swan Valley Stampeders ran out of steam Sunday afternoon in Winkler, falling 6-2 to close out their three game road trip.

Callum Halls opened the scoring, picking off a Winkler defenders pass up ice and ripped one home at 6:45 of the first period. Trent Penner continues to produce for the Flyers, scoring his 13th just over a minute later to tie the game 1-1.

Trey Sauder regained the Stampeders lead, scoring his 10th of the season on the power play at 6:39 of the second period. But, that was all the Stampeders could find for offence this afternoon. Winnkler scored five straight goals to take down Swan Valley on home ice.

Swan Valley will return home and get set for their final two games before the Christmas break, Friday night in Virden and Saturday night in Swan Valley.
