Swan Valley Defeats Niverville 6-1 Saturday Night, Win Streak Now At Seven

Swan River, MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders pushed their win streak to seven games, defeating the Niverville Nighhawks 6-1 Saturday night at the Centennial Arena.

The Stampeders offence was led by Alex Walicki (1G, 2A), Warren Marcotte (2G) while Loic Mainguy-Crepault stopped 36/37 shots he faced to collect his ninth win of the season.

 The Story 

Alex Walicki kicked things off Saturday night at the Centennial Arena, scoring his 11th of the season 12 seconds into the game. Warren Marcotte let a shot go from the point that beat a well screened Dane Couture at 8:46. Josh Danis collected his seventh of the season, swatting home a rebound at 14:52. Brett Tataryn was able to beat Mainguy-Crepault late in the first for his 17th of the year.

Colling Jennings collected his 14th of the season, beating Couture on the power play at 11:59 of the second period giving the Stampeders a 4-1 lead.

The Stampeders added two more in the third, Loic Mainguy-Crepault stood on his head and Swan Valley skated to a 6-1 win, their seventh straight win and improving their record to 34-16-5-1.
