Oil Capitals: 23-10-2-0 (1st in West) Power Play % (24.8% 4th in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (75.7% 11th in MJHL)
After sweeping last weekend’s string of games and riding a four game win streak, the Stampeders enter tonight’s game with confidence in themselves, facing the Virden Oil Capitals.
Virden has been one of the best teams in the MJHL as of late and have won five straight going into this evening. They’ll look to play spoiler to the Stampeders, who have played some of their best hockey as of late.
Stamps captain Ben Groome had a week to remember, as he scored five goals, added two assists for seven points in three games. The production awarded him MJHL Star of the Week.
Swan has struggled against Virden this season and will look to try and snap their losing streak to the Oil Caps. They’ll need a full 60 minutes of grit and grind to try and knock off the red hot Oil Caps.
Players to Watch:
Stampeders: Ben Groome, Zach Hertz, Jake Giacobbo
Oil Capitals: Bryce Bryant, Colton Worthington, Nathan Schaefer
Tonight’s game goes at 7:30 pm.
