Stampeders Win Best-of-Seven Series 4-2, Defeating Dauphin in Game 6 4-1

Swan River, MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders punched their ticket to the second round of the MJHL Playoffs last night, defeating the Dauphin Kings 4-1 in Game 6.

The Stampeders offence was led by Collin Jennings, Josh Danis, Trey Sauder and Jakob Jones who all scored for Swan Valley in the win.

The Story

The Stampeders put together a full 60-minute effort Tuesday night, scoring four goals on route to their first round series win against the Dauphin Kings.

Collin Jennings opened the scoring 10:42 into the first period, snapping home his fourth of the post-season after he found himself all alone in-front of the net. Josh Danis grabbed a loose puck and ripped one bar down on Dmytro Kubritsky for his first of the playoffs five minutes later. Alex Senf was able to deposit his second of the playoffs, scoring on the power play at 18:27.

Trey Sauder was able to score the insurance marker at 14:23 of the third period, snapping one off the post and in for his third of the post-season, giving the Stampeders a 3-1 lead. Jakob Jones stepped in-front of a shot, blocked it, and skated in all alone, depositing an empty net goal at 19:52 to claim victory in Game 6.

The Stampeders want to thank the Dauphin Kings for an unreal first round matchup. What a series.
