Stamps Drop Pre-Season Game To OCN

The Swan Valley Stampeders (1-3) travelled north Tuesday night to face off against the OCN Blizzard (0-2).

The Blizzard opened the scoring on the power play as Wyatt Riendeau let a point shot go that beat Michael Davis at 4:43. The Stampeders pushed back at 17:24 when Jackson Betcher let a point shot go that found the back of the net. The opening frame ended with both clubs tied at 1.

The second period had both clubs trade goals. The Stampeders Morgan Venne scored 6:12 of the middle frame and Tanner Booth scored on the power play at 14:59. OCN cut into the lead as Carson Cutknife-Bear scored on the power play at 16:55. Evan Herman tied things up late in the period and both clubs headed to the dressing room tied at 3.

The Blizzard regained the lead for the second time as Kobe Campbell beat Keegan Watkins-McIntyre 52 seconds into the third. Brydon Sinclair scored an empty net late and the third and The Blizzard went on to win 5-3. Final shots on goal were 30-27 in favour of OCN.

Next action for the Stampeders will be Friday September 14th when they host the OCN Blizzard. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm at the Centennial Arena.
