Stampeders look to turn the tides in three game week
The Swan Valley Stampeders will look to try and turn their season around this week with a three-game set. They’ll begin the week against the Dauphin Kings tomorrow night at the SRCA for a 7 pm puck drop. They’ll then head to Steinbach to face the Pistons on Friday, Oct. 10 for a 7 pm puck drop and end the week against the Winnipeg Blues in Winnipeg for a 7:30 pm start.
Falling victim of a tough start to the season, the Stampeders find themselves with a record of 1-6-0-0 which has them in fifth in the MGEU West Division. Though it is still early, the Stampeders can’t afford to have these types of starts, especially in a tight division. With injuries hurting the team and the general defence still in question, now would be a very good time for the Stampeders to swing momentum in their favour.
The Stampeders are coming off of a two game set against the Virden Oil Capitals that saw them only score once in the two games, while Virden scored 10 times. If they want to dig themselves out of this hole, they’ll need to come together and ask themselves, “Do we want it?”.
One thing is for certain, HC & GM Josh Tripp will definitely work with his group to make sure this season turns around, especially after the high expectations coming into the year. The players know they can score, defend, and win, but they have to make sure that they continue to show it.
